US Fabricated Beams Final Imports

U.S. Fabricated Beam Final Imports: Fabricated beam final imports to the U.S. were up 5.3% m/m in July 2020, and up 11.2% y/y, coming in at 44,106 tons.

Figure 1 breaks down total fabricated beam final imports from January 2019 – July 2020. When looking at the current year, it shows that fabricated beam imports reached their peak this month.

Figure 2 also charts the largest exporting countries in rank order through July 2020. Mexico was the largest exporter of fabricated beams with 12,511 tons in July. Canada was the second-largest exporter with 10,997 tons. Turkey was the third-largest exporter of fabricated beams to the US with 8,979 tons. Together these three exporters accounted for 74% of total fabricated beam imports.

Figure 3 also charts the largest imports by district of entry to the US in rank order through July 2020. The Houston-Galveston, TX port was the largest receiver of fabricated beams in July, receiving 9,057 tons. Laredo, TX was the second-largest district of entry, coming in at 6,072 tons. El Paso, TX was the third-highest receiver with 5,682 tons. Together these three districts of entry accounted for 47% of the total imports.
