U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports

U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports: Final beam imports to the U.S. came in at 40,040 tons for March 2025, up 18% since last month. These include: Angles, Shapes and H Sections, Angles, Shapes and I Sections, Iron and Non-Alloy Steel Hot-rolled, and Other H Sections.

Figure 1 further breaks down total beam final imports from January 2024 – March 2025.

Figure 2 charts the largest exporting countries to the U.S. through March 2025. Spain was the largest exporter of beams with 13,172 tons this month (33%). South Korea was the second-largest exporter with 8,725 tons. Canada was third with 7,166 tons. Together these three exporters accounted for 73% of the total.

Figure 3 also charts the largest imports by district of entry to the U.S. The Houston-Galveston, TX port was the largest receiver of beams this month, receiving 13,383 tons. Mobile, AL was the second-largest receiver coming in at 7,043 tons. San Francisco, CA was the third-largest receiver coming in at 3,971 tons. Together, these top three receiving ports collected 61% of all U.S. beam imports.
