U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports:
Final beam imports to the U.S. came in at 33,638 tons for April 2025, down 16% since last month. These include: Angles, Shapes and H Sections, Angles, Shapes and I Sections, Iron and Non-Alloy Steel Hot-rolled, and Other H Sections.
Figure 1 further breaks down total beam final imports from January 2024 – April 2025.
Figure 2 charts the largest exporting countries to the U.S. through April 2025. South Korea was the largest exporter of beams with 17,264 tons this month (51%). Germany was the second-largest exporter with 6,895 tons. Canada was third with 4,582 tons. Together these three exporters accounted for 85% of the total.
Figure 3 also charts the largest imports by district of entry to the U.S. The Los Angeles, CA port was the largest receiver of beams this month, receiving 10,466 tons. Boston, MA was the second-largest receiver coming in at 6,810 tons. San Francisco, CA was the third-largest receiver coming in at 3,679 tons. Together, these top three receiving ports collected 62% of all U.S. beam imports.
