U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports

U.S. Steel Beam Final Imports: Final beam imports to the U.S. came in at 25,208 tons for May 2025, down 25% since last month. These include: Angles, Shapes and H Sections, Angles, Shapes and I Sections, Iron and Non-Alloy Steel Hot-rolled, and Other H Sections.

Figure 1 further breaks down total beam final imports from January 2024 – May 2025.

Figure 2 charts the largest exporting countries to the U.S. through May 2025. South Korea was the largest exporter of beams with 10,300 tons this month (41%). Canada was the second-largest exporter with 5,494 tons. Mexico was third with 3,391 tons. Together these three exporters accounted for 76% of the total.

Figure 3 also charts the largest imports by district of entry to the U.S. The Houston-Galveston, TX port was the largest receiver of beams this month, receiving 11,515 tons. Boston, MA was the second-largest receiver coming in at 3,005 tons. Laredo, TX was the third-largest receiver coming in at 2,961 tons. Together, these top three receiving ports collected 69% of all U.S. beam imports.
